Gorell Replacement Windows and Doors warrants that its windows and doors installed by Western Construction, Inc. in your single family home will be free from material and manufacturing defects, under normal use and service for as long as you own your home.

Basic Replacement Window Unit Has A Lifetime Warranty*

The material used in your Replacement Windows is warranted to be free from defects under normal use and service for as long as you own your home. Gorell warrants that the finish on your Replacement Windows will not crack, blister or peel (except for normal weathering) under normal use and service for as long as you own your home.

Replacement Window Glass and Insulating Glass Unit Has A 50 Year Warranty*

All glass in the Replacement Window is warranted to be free from defects in material and manufacturing for 50 years from the date of purchase, except for commercially acceptable flaws in standard (q3) glass. The insulating glass parts of the windows are warranted to be free from material obstruction of view caused by film formation and / or dust collection between the interior surface of the glass due to the failure of the seal, under normal use and service, for 50 years from the date of purchase.

In addition Gorell will provide replacement glass free of charge once the product is installed in your home for any broken glass (except units with beveled/specialty/leaded glass or glass with interblinds in the windows and doors, regardless of cause, for 50 years from the date of installation.

Other Accessories And Parts Has A 50 Year Warranty*

The accessories and parts affixed to the Replacement Windows and Doors are warranted to be free from defects in material and manufacturing, under normal use and service for 50 Years from the date of service.

Minnesota Replacement Windows and Lead Safety

New Lead Safety Regulations and the Environmental Protection Agency

I’m usually the kind of guy who wants to keep government out of my Minnesota Replacement Window business as much as possible and this I thought was no exception.

I received a notice from the EPA explaining the new lead certification program every replacement window contractor has to go thru in order to be certified to replace windows and siding on homes built before 1978.

I paid the fees, cleared my schedule and  went to class kicking and screaming.

To my surprise after only 30 minuets I was raising my hand and asking question’s. I’ve heard about children eating paint chips and getting  lead poisoning before but I thought that was in the past. The dangers to children and pregnant women when replacing windows  in a home built before 1978 was real and more than a little scary.

The good news is most of what I learned in class Western Construction has already been doing for over 60 years. Most of the precautions were just good old fashion common sense.

To make a long story short its all about the clean up. We want to minimize the dust during construction, and make sure we take it with us when we leave.

Many of the Replacement Window contractors in class were complaining about the additional cost they were going to incur  on every Replacement Window job they did. The truth is, they should have been doing most of these things all along. I guess its just another reason why, when its time to replace your old drafty Minnesota windows you need to call Western Construction.
